The concept of missing someone is a difficult concept to grasp. I’ve had loved ones that have passed on and I miss them dearly, but this isn’t the kind of missing I’m talking about. The kind of missing I’m talking about is when a huge chunk of your life just disappears. When the inside of your stomach feels empty, not from hunger, but from the small little ache which is a reminder that someone who you cared for walked out of your life. The sad thing is I can sit here all day and write about what it’s like to feel hurt and lost when you’re abandoned. But I’m choosing to write about how to pick yourself up off the floor and move on. Life is too short to spend so much time fighting and hating each other. If we spend all this time fighting then how can we have the time to love? The truth is, we won’t have the time to love. Life is about finding yourself and basking in who you are. And if you happen to find someone along the way who basks in you too, then enjoy it. Enjoy it because it goes fast, and enjoy it because for that short while you were loved unconditionally and you may never get that feeling again. A small little light of hope to help you pick yourself up off the floor lies in this reality, missing someone gets easier with each passing day.
